Inspired by a color that has quietly followed me through the years. I never really new why, but this misty, seafoam, gray/blue/green has always felt so comforting to me. As I thought about it, I suddenly realized it was the main color in my grandparents home. Some of my happiest childhood memories were made there. We only saw them a couple times a year as we lived in different states. But I recall the warmth, laughter, holiday traditions and the feeling of being completely loved.

This layered mixed-media piece became a way of gathering those fragments of memory and emotion into one place. For me, this painting is about how the spaces we love never really leave us. They continue to live within us, shaping the way we see beauty, comfort and home.

Perhaps this might resonate with you and would be a fine addition to your home or office.
